Power | Nurasol Shadow Path
🌒 Power Controlled or controlling, never free Unmet need · Agency and sovereignty over your own life
Do you recognise this?

Power is the shadow that most people do not recognise in themselves because it wears different faces. The face of someone who never feels in control of their own life. And the face of someone who controls everything because the alternative feels unbearable.

You feel like things happen to you more than by you. Like you are navigating a life that other people have more say over than you do
Or the opposite: you manage, plan, and control because uncertainty feels threatening in a way you cannot always explain
You find it difficult to ask for what you need. Either because you do not believe you will get it, or because needing something feels like weakness
Situations where you have no control create a disproportionate amount of distress
There is a version of yourself that is quietly, persistently held back. And you are not entirely sure whether it is the world holding you back or whether you are doing it yourself

The shadow of power is not about being powerful in the world. It is about your relationship with your own agency. Whether you believe you have the right to direct your own life. The work begins there.

Where power lives in the body

Select a zone to feel where
Power speaks through you.

The Solar Plexus
The centre of personal power and will. When power feels unavailable, it contracts. When expressed, it expands.
You might feel: tightening or expansion, a sense of strength or its absence
The Hands
The tools of agency. When power is blocked, the hands often carry that tension.
You might feel: tension, restlessness, an urge to act or an inability to
The Chest
The heart that wants to matter. Power at its deepest is about the right to take up space.
You might feel: expansion or constriction, a held-back quality
The Legs and Feet
Power requires a foundation. The legs hold your sense of being able to stand on your own ground.
You might feel: unsteadiness, a need to root, or a readiness to move

The wound and the gift

Every shadow carries two sides.
This is what power is holding.

The wound
The wound of power shows up in two opposite but related patterns. The person who gives their power away and then resents those who hold it. And the person who grips power tightly, controlling what they can because the feeling of powerlessness underneath is unbearable. Both are responses to the same original experience of having no agency.
A persistent feeling of powerlessness in your own life
Controlling others or situations as protection against uncertainty
Difficulty asking for what you need or believing you have the right to it
A held-back version of yourself waiting for permission that never comes
The gift
Power met honestly becomes sovereignty. Not dominance over others, but genuine authority over your own life. The decisions made from genuine choice rather than fear. The ability to take up space without apology. The capacity to lead, to influence, to create, in ways that are in service of something rather than protection from something.
Sovereignty, the genuine sense of agency over your own life
The capacity to lead without dominating
Strength used in service of something beyond yourself
The ability to hold ground without needing to control others to do it
“I direct my own life.
My power serves, it does not harm.”
Your archetype
From the Controlled or Controller to the Sovereign

The Controlled gives power away and resents it. The Controller takes it from others and is never satisfied. The Sovereign has found something different: a grounded authority that does not require anyone else to be less.
